What this site measures.
Handhelm uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page loading and responsiveness. On the current production site, Cloudflare adds its performance beacon while serving the page; the beacon is not included in this repository's HTML source.
Measurements sent to Cloudflare
The beacon reports page-load and Core Web Vitals measurements, including First Contentful Paint, Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, Time to First Byte, and Interaction to Next Paint. Cloudflare's current documentation also lists a page-load identifier, navigation timing and paint timing data, JavaScript heap measurements when the browser exposes them, and the page path and referring page. The beacon sends its report to this site's /cdn-cgi/rum endpoint; its script is served from static.cloudflareinsights.com.
Cloudflare says Web Analytics does not log query strings, to avoid collecting potentially sensitive data. Provider behavior and documentation can change; this page describes the information Cloudflare publishes now.
Browser storage and network data
Cloudflare says its performance beacon does not read or store cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB. Its data-origin and collection notes also say it does not track individual end users across customer Internet properties. Cloudflare receives the visitor's IP address as part of the network request, then says it discards that address at the nearest Cloudflare data center rather than storing it in its core databases or logs.
Retention
Cloudflare currently says it keeps seven days of unsampled beacon data, then aggregates it to approximately ten percent of the original volume for longer-term analytics. Its dashboard makes the previous six months available.
